National Burger Month: Komodo Style
Here at Komodo we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the classic hamburger than with an entire month dedicated to this American icon. Yes, May is National Hamburger Month and we’re sharing a few of our favorites around the city. Whether you’re into a burger with all the trimmings or you’re just a ketchup & patty kind of person, it’s hard to say no to a bite of juicy Angus ground beef on a toasted bun. Here’s a quick round-up of some of the best places to grab a burger and get celebrating.
The Apple Pan : If you’re into a classic all-American burger than The Apple Pan is probably one of your go-to’s. Take your pick of the Hickoryburger or the Steakburger, a side of fries, and don’t forget to finish with a slice of pie from where their namesake comes from (apple, or my favorite, the banana cream). The Apple Pan has been in operation for over 60 years and it’s got the perfect dose of vintage Americana charm with it’s counter seating and soft drinks still served in paper cones.
Little Bear : If you really love indulging, the Little Bear hamburger is for you. Featuring fresh ground Angus, wild mushrooms, white truffle oil, (but yes, there’s more!) Stilton cheese, crispy onions, arugula and cherry gastrique, all on a brioche bun. This burger is definitely for the maximalist who enjoys quality and quantity.
Last, but certainly not least, we are excited to announce our famous Burgerrito will be back at all Komodo locations from May 15-30 so get it while you can. What exactly is a Burgeritto, you ask? A delicious mashup of a burrito and a hamburger, two of our personal favorites here at Komodo. A juicy burger patty with all the fixings enveloped in a warm flour tortilla. You can’t go wrong. So stop by and try it out. Trust us.
